Produced under the aegis of the Brussels Studies Institute (BSI) by a group of professors from the ULB and the VUB, with the support of the Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region Rudi Vervoort, it is the first MOOC on Brussels, or BrOOC (Brussels Open Online Course). Already released last September in French and Dutch, it is also available in English from 15 February 2021 onwards.

This online course is created for foreign students who are studying in Brussels (like the Master Photonics students), but is also designed for those who simply wish to discover or better understand the realities of our Belgian capital region. The BrOOC covers the history and geography of Brussels, but also the sociology of its inhabitants, the political and economic organisation and the mobility of those who live and study there. A new section of the BrOOC will open every two weeks, spiced with numerous illustrations and didactic exercises. Discover Brussels in a whole new way and get encouraged to study in Belgium!
