Celebrate the International Day of Light with us! Win a one-year membership for the Student Chapter of UGent or VUB! Participate in our contest and get the chance to win a free membership at SPIE or OSA (free of choice).

Celebrate the International Day of Light with our Master Photonics Contest! Fill out the quiz and get the chance to win a membership for one of our Student Chapters. Pick your favorite chapter (Photonics Society Ghent or B-PHOT Student Chapter) and the organization you would like to receive a membership for (SPIE or OSA). The one-year membership will be fully paid by B-PHOT Brussels Photonics and UGent and will start on January 1st 2022 (or after your current membership ends).

The contest is open to everyone: potential students, current students and former students. The two winners will receive an email in June 2021. In case of an ex-aequo, a tiebreaker question will decide the winner.

International Day of Light

The International Day of Light is a global initiative that provides an annual focal point for the continued appreciation of light and the role it plays in science, culture and art, education, and sustainable development, and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications, and energy. The broad theme of light will allow many different sectors of society worldwide to participate in activities that demonstrates how science, technology, art and culture can help achieve the goals of UNESCO – education, equality, and peace.
